Au Pair family life
In theory, the au pair worker must be able to have a personal room. He / she must be treated like a member of the family, to have the meals with them and to take part in the leisure activities. On the other hand, he / she must respect the engagements, to carry out the au pair work correctly and to be of useful help. Certain au pair stays can end up badly, or be even brutally interrupted, because the au pair tasks to be carried out were insufficiently detailed or because the contract is not respected. It is essential to discuss openly with the au pair family, so that mutual expectations are clearly expressed; to have enough money to buy a round trip ticket, to pay for a hotel room, to buy food; to think of getting an international debit or credit card, before the departure. In the event of unjustified requirements from the au pair family, it is advisable to contact the au pair organization. In the absence of organization and in case of a serious problem, it is advisable to contact the social service of your consulate. • • • Interesting sites:
